CARBON PROJECT DEVELOPER

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Implement GHG emission reduction projects of various types; including but not limited to AFOLU, biogas- biomass, transport, and energy industries in GAIA’s portfolio under the VERRA, Gold Standard, GCC, and/or other relevant international schemes;
  • Conduct project-specific technical and additionality assessments and financial analysis, draft project development documents, manage project cycle from validation to registration in a timely manner, and ensure smooth registration of the Project
  • Conduct site visits with the verifiers successfully
  • Keep up-to-date knowledge on developments in terms of the international carbon market and (inter-)national environmental policy
  • Be a key point of contact and maintain a good relationship with the team members inside the company, project owners, clients, verification bodies, stakeholders, and other counterparts:
  • Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

Key Qualifications

  • A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Economics, or sustainability-related disciplines
  • Eager to deveop carbon asset projects and work on PDD writing, conductProject validation, monitoring, verification, and issuance;
  • Experience with VCS (Verra), Gold Standard, GCC (Global Carbon Council), and other relevant schemes will be a plus
  • Nice to have competency in ISO 14064 and/or GHG Protocol
  • Fluent oral and written skills in English
  • Competency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Diligent working attitude towards all written, visual and numeric work
  • Strong communication skills with colleagues and external stakeholders
